A brand-new Quick.Cms is coming soon – meanwhile, here come Quick.Cms 5.5 and Quick.Cart 5.6
- a choice of one of two (three in the paid edition) methods of sending emails. This will most likely solve the problem of most restrictive server configurations (e.g. home.pl – we recently wrote about form problems on home.pl hosting) related to sending emails, e.g. new order notifications.
- security changes:
- only files with extensions specified in the configuration file can be uploaded
- the login name is hidden while editing the configuration
- a message forcing a change of the "admin" login and password when the script runs on a server other than a local one (localhost)
- simplified developer mode – set in the configuration file; when enabled, it displays all possible errors in the PHP code, as well as information about an incorrect script installation
- HTML and CSS code adapted to the new version of the WCAG 2.0 validator
- several bug fixes
- a new add-on for defining additional notices that must be accepted when placing an order, e.g. consent to the processing of data for marketing purposes etc. – Quick.Cart.Ext only
- the option to opt in to the newsletter when placing an order (when this option is ticked, the email address is added to the newsletter database) – Quick.Cart.Ext only (source: opensolution.org)
For several months the team has been working on a new version, Quick.Cms v6.0. Progress can be followed on Facebook, where the developers post screenshots and information about solutions that are revolutionary for these scripts. We will write more about version 6.0 of Quick.Cms, because although we will have to wait a few months for the release, as part of the webmaster community and as platinum partners we have access to the current test versions. As always, OpenSolution has gone for simplicity – though this should not be taken literally. The new version is very well thought out and the end result will surely surprise many a webmaster. In a good way, of course.
In the meantime, we will be building new websites on Quick.Cart EXT 6.5 and Quick.Cms 5.5.
