New versions: Quick.Cms EXT 5.4 and Quick.Cart EXT 6.4
It's here. Over the last two weeks new versions of the popular CMS scripts have been released. At the end of March OpenSolution presented Quick. Cart 5.4 EXT, and since 15 April the latest version of the shop, Quick.Cart 6.4 EXT, has been available to order. Both scripts also have updated free versions. Since last year OpenSolution no longer releases beta versions, so the paid and the simpler free versions of the scripts are released at the same time.
As announced, the new versions include the usual bug fixes, but there are also plenty of new features:
Quick.Cart 6.4 EXT
- Fixes for all known bugs
- WAI improvements (use of tabindex, legends in forms)
- Option to restrict admin panel logins to a specific IP.
- New "save and add another" button to speed up adding pages, products etc.
- Improvements to page loading speed in the browser
- Option to set a custom character map when generating URLs
- Updated WYSIWYG editor – tinyMCE
- Fewer duplicate links generated in the product list
- New link to preview a page or product while editing.
- A set of improvements to speed up admin tasks.
- Clearer forms, with required fields marked.
- Better protection and validation of submitted order forms
- Option to hide the home page name in the page title.
- An extra field, e.g. for displaying a shortened page name in the menu.
- Developer mode, giving the webmaster access to all fields hidden from the client.
- Option to hide a box's name and display only its content.
- New displayBox() function to make website design easier
- Displaying selected page/product elements in a box, e.g. image, name, description.
- Choosing which product elements are displayed in the list of promoted products.
- Option to disable the shop functions and turn it into a product catalogue.
- In the "admins" add-on: option to temporarily disable an administrator, e.g. while on holiday. This improves site security.
- In the "admins" add-on: notification when another administrator is in the admin panel at the same time.
- In the "users" add-on: redirecting the user to a specific page after logging in.
- In the "users" add-on: hiding non-required fields in the new user registration form.
- In the users add-on: option to send information / a message to a newly registered user's email.
- Managing friendly links from the page and product lists in the seoLinksExt add-on.
- New configuration options in more than a dozen add-ons.
- 4 new add-ons: productsLastVisitedExt, randomPageExt, randomCategoryProductsExt and lastProductExt.
- Improved loading of JavaScript libraries, including jQuery and galleria.
